Tamiya 31212 1/700 Jap. Junyo Aircraft Carrier
The Japanese Navy acquired a luxury liner under construction and completed it as an aircraft carrier in July 1945. It is a plastic model kit of the aircraft carrier Junyo, which was represented in battles such as the third Solomon Battle and the Battle of the Philippine Sea. The smooth lines of the bow and stern, which are typical of passenger ships, and the funnel, which is integrated into the bridge, which is inclined outwards by 26 degrees, are realistically represented with a large hull and an attack force comparable to a normal aircraft carrier, while it is an overhauled aircraft carrier. The main mast, anti-aircraft weapons and the abundant set of carrier aircraft are also faithfully depicted.
