Tamiya 61121 1/48 F-4B Phantom II McDonnell Douglas
Series production of the Phantom II began in 1961 with the F4-B. The two-seat supersonic fighter was used by the Air Force, the Navy and the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Powered by twin jet engines, the Phantom II could also carry ordnance and was therefore also used as a fighter-bomber. In 1996 the Phantom II was sent into well-deserved retirement.
The wing structure (panel lines / rivets) of the original machine was modeled in detail in the model. The outer wings were set up for use on aircraft carriers (space-saving), the right and left horizontal stabilizers move together. The cockpit canopy can be opened, and the refueling probe and boarding ladder are also functional. The scope of delivery includes detailed assembly instructions, painting instructions, various decals (including "Screaming Eagles" decals) and background information on the history of the Phantom II.
