The 1/16 R/C M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer was the first R/C model kit introduced by TAMIYA in 1974. This marked the beginning of more than 50 years of RC history for TAMIYA. This legendary kit is the updated version of item 56014 1/16 R/C M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer with a new gearbox. A new 540 engine is used and replaces the two 380 engines of the old version. The highlight is the differential steering system which is technically reproduced from an original tank. tanks generally use the clutch-brake-steering system: The power of the centrally located engine is transmitted to both tracks and the speeds can be controlled via brake letters. This means that the tank can also be steered by making different turns between the right and left tracks. During the Second World War, most American tanks were equipped with this steering system. Enjoy the feeling of using the steering system of the real tank on our legendary R/C tank.

Differential steering system A differential gear transmits the power of the central engine (540cc) from the center to the outside. This controlled differential steering system has a brake disk on both sides of the differential gear, which distributes the power to the left and right drive sprockets: Transmitter commands cause the steering servo to move, which in turn slows down the spinning side chain and speeds up the other chain. The resulting difference in speed causes the tank to turn. This system was mainly used on American tanks during the Second World War.mileage The turning circle is controlled by the steering servo and the brakes. Speed control and steering operation are independent, so this tank can be controlled via a 2-channel transmitter in the same way as an R/C car. The horizontal vertical spring suspension (HVSS) uses metal coil springs for smooth movement and ensures a powerful drive, even on uneven surfaces.
